Octapeptide derived from the envelope glycoprotein (gp 120) of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and lyophilized solid. It was named “peptide T” because of its high threonin content. It inhibits HIV in vitro, binding of the viral envelope, and T-cell infectivity.
