Sequence:
H-Ile-Lys-Cys-Asn-Cys-Lys-Arg-His-Val-Ile-Lys-Pro-His-Ile-Cys-Arg-Lys-Ile-Cys-Gly-Lys-Asn-NH2 (trifluoroacetate salt) (Cys3 and 15 bridge, Cys5 and 19 bridge)
Description
Highly basic MCD peptide is isolated from the venom of European honeybee, Apis Mellifera. At low doses, it leads to mast cell degranulation and subsequence histamine release. At higher doses, it causes an anti-inflammatory effect, beneficial in rheumatic and allergic diseases.
