Description
A vasoactive “somatostatin-like” cyclic peptide originally derived from fish spinal cords that has recently been cloned from man. It was found to be the most potent mammalian vasoconstrictor identified so far and may have additional activities, as urotensin II immunoreactivity was also found within the central nervous system and endocrine tissues.
